Baked Sole Fish

INGREDIENTS:
500 gms sole fish (see notes for mackerel or pomfret)

For grinding:
1" ginger
6-8 cloves garlic
handful of coriander leaves
3-4 green chillies
1/2 lime - juice or  2 tsp vinegar
salt to taste
1/2 onion
1/2 tsp turmeric powder

For frying:
1/2 onion chopped ( for frying)
coconut oil (for frying)

Steps:
  1. Wash and clean the fish and keep it aside.
  2. Grind all the ingredients to a fine paste without adding water.
  3. Marinate the fish with the ground masala for at least 1 hour. Save the remaining masala for later.
  4. Place the marinated fish on a greased baking tray and bake it in an oven preheated to 200c for 15-20mins.
  5. Or you could even pan fry the fish.
  6. In a separate pan, heat oil and fry the chopped onions till translucent.
  7. Add the remaining masala and cook till the oil separates.
  8. Spread this evenly on the fried / baked fish.
  9. ENJOY!
Notes:
You can wrap fish such as pomfret and king fish in a banana leaf. For this, you need to first fry some masala, apply it on the fish and then wrap it before frying/baking it in an oven.
