MANGALOREAN BEEF SUKKA

This Beef Sukka is a traditional Mangalorean Catholic style recipe. The recipe is adapted from the Chicken and Mutton Sukka preparations that are native to the coastal regions of Mangalore, Udupi and Kundapur. It is a semi-dry dish made with ground roasted spices and freshly grated coconut. Beef Croquettes

                    


 INGREDIENTS 

 1/2 kg beef mince

1 large onion

10 cloves of garlic

1inch ginger

1tbs chopped coriander

1tbs chopped mint leaves

1/2 tsp salt

2 green chillies

1tsp garam masala powder

1tsp pepper powder

1/2 tsp haldi

2tsp soya sauce

2tsp tomato ketchup

1tbs vinegar

2 medium boiled potatoes

2tbs bread crumbs


For the coating

1/4th cup maida

1/2 cup bread crumbs

1 large egg- beaten









METHOD

Fry the finely chopped onion, green chillies,giner and garlic in some oil till the raw smell is gone. Add the mince and cook on high flame. Now add the pepper,haldi,garam masala, soya sauce, vinegar, ketchup and salt. Cook till the mince is cooked and all the water has dried. Finally add the chopped  mint and corriander.

Once the mixture has cooled combine it with the mashed potatoes and bread crumbs.

Shape the mixture into croquettes or cutlets. Coat the croquettes with  maida ,followed by egg and finally with bread crumbs.

Deep fry in oil till golden brown.
