MANGALOREAN BEEF SUKKA

This Beef Sukka is a traditional Mangalorean Catholic style recipe. The recipe is adapted from the Chicken and Mutton Sukka preparations that are native to the coastal regions of Mangalore, Udupi and Kundapur. It is a semi-dry dish made with ground roasted spices and freshly grated coconut. flat noodles in teriyaki sauce

 


The Japanese origin Teriyaki Sauce is now popular all over the world with its bold flavour & dark colour. It is a versatile sauce that can be used to grill Seafood or Meat, in various Noodle dishes and Stir-Fries.

For this recipe I have used Flat Noodles and a mix of Chicken, Crab Sticks and Vegetables. You can use regular Noodles and any other Meat/ Vegetable options that you like.


INGREDIENTS

200 gms Flat Noodles

200 gms Teriyaki Sauce

1 tbs Soya Sauce

1/2 tsp Pepper Powder

100 gms Bok Choy

6-8 Cloves of Garlic, Julienned

1 Inch Ginger, Julienned

1 Small Red Capsicum, Cut Lengthwise

1 Small Yellow Capsicum, Cut Lengthwise

1 Small Green Capsicum, Cut Lengthwise

100 gms Mushroom, Cut In Half

5-6 Spring Onions, Cut Lengthwise

1/2 Cup Boneless Chicken, Cut Into Cubes

5 Crab Sticks, Cut In Half

3-4 tbs Oil

Salt to Taste


METHOD

  • Marinate the chicken cubes with some salt.
  • Boil the noodles according to the packet instructions.
  • Heat oil in a Wok and fry the chicken, giner and garlic till aromatic.
  • Add the crab sticks and vegetables.
  • Saute on high flame.
  • In a bowl combine the Teriyaki sauce, soya sauce, pepper powder and salt to taste.
  • Add this to the sauteed vegetables.
  • Now add the cooked noodles and mix gently till well combined.
  • Finally garnish with chopped Spring Onion.
