MANGALOREAN BEEF SUKKA

This Beef Sukka is a traditional Mangalorean Catholic style recipe. The recipe is adapted from the Chicken and Mutton Sukka preparations that are native to the coastal regions of Mangalore, Udupi and Kundapur. It is a semi-dry dish made with ground roasted spices and freshly grated coconut. Andhra Chilly Chicken



Tickle those taste buds with this Bengaluru restaurant style Andhra Chilly Chicken. This Spicy dish is a definite crowd pleaser and can be prepared in a jiffy. 


 INGREDIENTS

1kg Chicken (Cut Into Medium Sized Pieces)

2 tsp Soya Sauce

1 tbs Corn Flour

Salt to Taste

6-8 Green Chillies, Sliced

3-4 tbs Oil

For The Chilly Paste

20 Green Chillies (Depending On The Spice Of The Chillies)

For The Marinade

1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder

1 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste

1 tbs Vinegar

1/2 tsp Salt





METHOD

  • Marinate the chicken with all the ingredients for the marinade for an hour.
  • Grind the Chillies to a fine paste, without adding any water.
  • Heat oil in a vessel and fry the sliced green chillies.
  • Add the Chilly paste and fry for 5 minutes.
  • Next add in the marinated chicken and soya sauce.
  • Fry on high flame till the chicken starts to change colour.
  • Add half a cup of water and bring to a boil.
  • Cover and cook on low flame till the chicken has cooked through.
  • Mix the cornflour with 1/4 Cup of water and add to the Gravy. 
  • Cook till the gravy has thickened.
  • Check for seasoning. Add salt and vinegar if required.
